Another Year of Small Changes

Just like last year’s update, the 2026 Tacoma is still seeing small tweaks to its winning formula, which last saw major changes in 2024’s overhaul. If you weren’t happy with last year’s Tacoma options, you aren’t likely to be swayed by this year’s model. The good news? Our review of the 2025 Tacoma found it to be “genuinely enjoyable to drive, highly capable off-road and finished with thoughtful touches,” so big changes weren’t necessary. With that in mind, let’s look at what’s new.
Black Logo

This year’s TRD Off-Road, TRD Sport, and TRD Pre-Runner trims will include a front logo in black — always fashionable and goes with everything!
New Colors

A pair of new color options are available, one across the line-up, and one exclusive to this year’s TRD Pro. Most Tacomas in 2026 will offer Heritage Blue as an option. This year’s exclusive TRD Pro color is provocatively (and perhaps confusingly) titled Wave Runner — TRD Pros in that color will be available starting in March 2026.

A towing hitch is now standard on all 2026 Toyota Tacoma SR XtraCab, so if that’s the model you had your eye on, you’ll get a little added versatility built in! If you were looking at the Tacoma TRD Off-Road model, you can get some sweet 32″ Goodyear All-Terrain tires on TRD 18″ wheels as part of the i-Force Premium Package.
